Tendulkar Talks Up India’s World Cup Chances

Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar believes India have a fantastic opportunity to win this year’s World Cup in England.

Tendulker was part of the India side which lifted the trophy back in 2011 and he says they will go into the tournament this year as one of the favourites.

Tendaulker says the IPL has left their players full of confidence and the fact that a hot summer is forecast could play into India’s hands.

He said: “When we (India) played the Champions Trophy (in 2017), the wickets were superb. When the sun is out and it is hot, the wicket gets really flat.

“When there is heavy cloud cover, the ball might move around a bit, but that happens in any part of the world for some time, I don’t see it happening for a longer duration, just for a few overs, if at all. “The World Cup will be played in England, but hopefully, it will be coming to India.”
