The Guardian Newspapers Commiserates With CCL On Pastor Ojeagbase’s Passing

The Guardian Newspapers Limited has commiserated with the Ojeagbase family, the management and staff of Complete Communications Limited (CCL) – the publishers of Complete Sports, on the passing away of the company’s Founder and Executive Chairman, Pastor (Dr.) Emmanuel Sunny Ojeagbase.

Pastor Ojeagbase died in Atlanta USA on Saturday, February 26 2022 after a brief illness.


The Guardian Newspapers’ condolence letter was signed by its General Manager, Business Operations, Mr. Kazeem Oladoyin, and addressed to the Group Managing Director of Complete Communications Limited, Dr. Mumini Alao.

“The Management and Associates of The Guardian Newspapers Limited commiserate with you, and staff of Complete communications and the Ojeagbase family on the passing of Dr. Emmanuel Sunny
Ojeagbase, Founder and Executive Chairman of Complete Communications Limited,” the message reads.

“Dr. Sunny Ojeagbase’s exit is a great loss to the media world; an exceptionaly briliant and professional; his positive contributions to the journalism industry cannot be overlooked. A veteran sports jourmalist, he pioneered sports titles including Complete Football magazine, Complete Football International and International Soccer Review into the Nigerlan sports journalism.

“Indeed, Dr. Ojeagbase also made tremendous impact on a generation of Nigerians through his highly-read tabloid, Success Digest, contributing remarkably to the entrepreneurial spirit of many visionary men and women with which he created and facilitated breakthrough job opportunities.

“We join millions of Nigerians to mourn the passage to glory of this great Nigerian, and urge that you
be strong and take solace in the fact that he left an indelible mark in the sands of time through his immense contributions to the economic and soclo-cultural development of the most populous black nation on earth

“Sunny 0jeagbase will be sorely missed. Please accept our sincere condolences, as we pray God to grant you, his associates and family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and eternal rest to the departed.”

The Late Pastor (Dr.) Ojeagbase was Sports Editor of The Guardian Newspapers from 1983 to 1984 after making his mark also as the Sports Editor of Sunday Concord from 1980 to 1983. Thereafter, he became an entrepreneur in the sports media industry and successively established Sports Souvenir weekly newspaper, Complete Football magazine, International Soccer Review (ISR), Complete Sports daily newspaper and Completesports.com.
