The SociaLiga Football League, #LigaSFL, is Nigeria’s most competitive, exciting, and organised semi-professional football league.

We have become not just the production line of Nigeria’s best talent pool and the backbone on which their careers are propelled to higher levels but also the very Entreé of these future ballers.

The League currently in its fifth season following its inception in 2016, with 260 matches & 473 goals, of which 57 matches & 47 goals have been in the current campaign in both the men and women’s leagues.

In the Men’s Liga, only two teams have won the title – Saints FC, who are the current holders and have won three of the last four editions, and Dannaz FC. In the Women’s division, it’s been shared between the trio of Knights Ladies, 2x winners, Saints Ladies and current champions, Alimosho Ladies.

The 2021 season has a total of 14 teams in both divisions, 10 in the Men’s and 4 in the Women’s. In the former, four of the teams are making their debuts, 96Champions, Atlantic Business, Blak Haus and all the way from Abeokuta, Egba City.

In the Women’s Liga, we have the regular teams bar Raineri Ladies, who are playing in the LigaSFL for the first time.

After five match days in the LigaSFL, the new teams have held their own in both divisions, 96Champions sit pretty at the top of the Men’s league on 13 points, followed by Atlantic Business, Egba City and Citizens who make up the top four.

Defending champions of the Women’s Liga Alimosho Ladies are top of the table in that division, followed by Raineri Ladies in second, Saints Ladies are third while Dannaz sit bottom of the log.

The top four teams in the Men’s Liga qualify for the playoffs slated later this year while the top team in the Women’s qualify to the final with the second and third-placed teams to battle it out for who makes it through in the playoffs.

The SociaLiga Football League currently airs on DSTV, GoTV and StarTimes.

With over 1,000 people in attendance at our league games and over 20,000 community members, we have created a perfect ambience and opportunity for teams and people to build a network.
