Chido Obi has disclosed that his season-long loan move from Manchester United to Dutch Eredivisie side Willem II is a major milestone in his professional journey.
Recall that Obi joined Willem II on a straight, season-long loan until June 2027, with no buy option included.
The move is an opportunity for Obi to play first-team football after initially being given a taste at the end of the 2024/25 season.

In a chat with the club’s website, Obi, who expressed his delight joining the Eredivisie side, stated that it is a great step in his career to gain regular first-team minutes.
“This is a great step in my career for me. I want to play as much as possible, gain experience and develop myself further. I will work hard for the team and hope to be important.”
Meanwhile, Willem II technical director Freek Heerkens has praised Chido Obi as a talented young striker at a crucial stage of his development following his loan move from Manchester United.
He stated that the Eredivisie in the Netherlands is an ideal environment to help the teenager gain senior experience.
