Thomas And Scott Lead In Rainy LA

Adam Scott and Justin Thomas hold the lead the Genesis Open after rain again affected Friday’s play. The weather caused a number of delays on Thursday and it was a similar story in Los Angeles second time around, with none of the 144 players managing to make it through 36 holes heading into the weekend.

Thomas reached 10-under after picking up five strokes through 12 holes and was joined on that tally by Scott, who was also five-under for his round before being called in after 11.

Overnight leader JB Holmes is a shot back, while Jordan Spieth shares fourth with Luke List on seven-under at Riviera Country Club.

The weather is expected to abate over the weekend and Thomas admits he is feeling good about his game, especially when he is in and around the greens.

He told the PGA Tour website: “I’m striking it well. I putted really well today, which is nice, and I just, when I hit it in the rough or I hit it in trouble, I’m just kind of getting it around the green or getting it on the green.”
