Tokyo 2020 Badminton: Nigeria Men’s Doubles Olofua, Opeyori Crash Out After Defeat To Denmark

Nigeria badminton men’s doubles at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Godwin Olofua and Anuoluwapo Opeyori have crashed out following their defeat to Denmark in their second Group B game, Completesports.com reports 

Opeyori and Olofua on Monday succumbed to a 2-0 straight set defeat of 21-7, 21-10 to Denmark’s Kim Astrup and Aders Skaarup Rasmussen who are world number 12 in the doubles ranking.

It would be recalled that both players has lost their opening game to hosts Japan also in straight set of 21-2, 21-7.

They will now take on Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov from Russian Olympic Committee  (ROC) on Tuesday in their final fixture.

Monday’s results means both Japan and Denmark have now qualified for the quarter-finals.

While Nigeria and ROC have been eliminated from this year’s games.
