Nigeria women’s 4×100m relay team are out of contention for a medal at this year’s Olympics in Tokyo.
The quartet of Tobi Amusan, Grace Nwokocha, Patience Okon-George and Ese Brume finished 6th in heat 2, posting a time of 43.25s.
The race was won by Germany in a time of 42.00, Switzerland finished second on 42.05 and China in third with 42.82.
The 4×100m women’s relay final comes up on Friday and will be contested by the Netherlands, France, Germany, Great Britain, United States, Switzerland, Jamaica and China.
Team Nigeria are in joint 68 position on the medal table alongside Bulgaria and San Marino.
China lead the table on 32 gold, 23 silver and 16 bronze, United States are second with 27 gold, 33 silver and 24 bronze, in third position is Japan with 27 gold, seven silver and 13 bronze.

This what you get when most of the original relay runners have gone home with the 10 disqualified athletes, in addition to Okagbare saga. Then you convert your long jumper, hurdler and 400m runner, to fill in the vacant position in the 4×100 relay. They even tried to make 6th position.
Let’s come home and prepare for 2024 olympics, it is not far again.

Coming together to run a relay. Kudos to the girls for the brave attempt but really the AFN and Sports ministry should be tired of ridiculing us at all times.
So this means that if one of the quartet above was unavailable then they would have called on maybe one of the wrestlers to complete the team.
After Tokyo rather than start preparing for 2024 Olympics it’s election and other irrelevancies that would be their concentration.
Then February 2024 they will start to prepare for the Olympics

Since this regime is good at borrowing from China, Sunday Dare can as well borrow medals from China on his way back home so that his worshippers can have something to praise him for, for his competence and HIGH STANDARDS of delivery, because it seems the tripled prize money bribe he offered the remaining athletes to haul medals in a bid to cover his shame and pancake this global shame isn’t working.
