Tomori Thrilled With AC Milan Ambitions

England defender Fikayo Tomori is excited about the ambitions of Serie A giants AC Milan.

The 23-year-old Chelsea defender arrived on loan with an option to buy this month and has already played his first game in the Coppa Italia.

“I arrived with Milan first in the table,” he said at a press conference. “We have to believe in the Scudetto.

“It would be a great result. We shouldn’t be afraid to talk about the Scudetto, we all believe in it.”

Tomori impressed on his debut against Inter in the Derby della Madonnina, but Milan were eventually eliminated from the Coppa Italia.

“Even in the Premier League, matches are played with great aggression. Derbies are very intense matches.

“I’m very happy to be here. We are in a positive moment, I want to contribute. I will give everything on the pitch, with great desire and determination.

“There are differences on a technical-tactical level. The English game is more aggressive and physical, but here I have to pay more attention to tactics.

“However, I’m also here to improve, I’m ready to listen to all the advice that [Paolo] Maldini, the coach and my teammates will give me.”

The young defender believes it’s ‘positive’ that English players are moving abroad to other Leagues.

“It’s a positive thing. Even in England, people are beginning to think that there’s not just the Premier League.

“Before, the British were not very inclined to go abroad, while it can be important to gain experience abroad.”

Tomori said the first training sessions at Milanello went well.

“It was a great feeling to train with great players like [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and [Mario] Mandzukic. I can learn a lot.

“I’m also ready to learn from their personalities. I want to improve and learn from these great players.

“I came here to Italy but despite the language barrier they all helped me to communicate with the coach, it was an easy adaptation.

“I always wanted a new experience, being here in Milan and Italy is the best place to grow as a person and player.”
