Toon Consider Wilson Move

Newcastle are ready to rival Aston Villa in the battle to land winger Harry Wilson from Liverpool this summer. Wilson enjoyed a successful campaign on loan at Derby County last year and managed 17 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions.

The 22-year-old has been involved for Liverpool in pre-season and remains highly rated by boss Jurgen Klopp, but such is the competition for places in the Reds attack he is expected to move on during the summer window regardless.

Reports towards the end of last season claimed Liverpool had set an asking price of £22million for the Wales international although it is unclear if the Anfield club are hoping for a permanent exit – or if they will only be open to loan offers.

Villa have been linked for some time and now Newcastle are believed to be ready to rival them for Wilson’s signature as new boss Steve Bruce tweaks his squad. Wilson is keen to move on to secure regular football and reports indicate Newcastle would be open to an outright deal or a loan spell depending on what Liverpool are prepared to sanction.
