One award every striker aims to bag is the golden boot, given at the end of the tournament to the top scorer.

Although there are a lot of quality players playing in the world cup, some are a bit better than others. Such talented players are mentioned below, who can be potential winners:

Potential Golden Ball Winners

 Vinicius Junior Vinicius Junior

The Brazilian wonder kid, Vinicius Junior, was one of the best players in the world in 2021-22. He had 22 goals and 16 assists, including some game-winning performances. Like his idol and captain, Neymar Jr, he has the potential to win it all.

The Brazilian squad this year is full of mature, young, and talented players who are hungry for a trophy, so we can bet on Vinicius Jr to win it.

Cristiano Ronaldo Cristiano Ronaldo

Arguably one of the best players of this generation, Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, more commonly known as CR7, is ready for his fifth world cup. The active top goal scorer and record breaker Ronaldo has been on the hunt for the FIFA world cup for quite some time as Portugal is yet to win one, so he will do everything in his hands to win it.

Even after years of performing at the top level, he still has the potential and hunger to win more, so we can expect him as a potential golden ball winner.

Now lets see his performance for Portugal in the upcoming world cup, fans are excited to see live action from stands, whereas many would also be able to watch live stream of the FIFA world cup online anywhere through various streaming platforms.

Lionel Messi Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi, the Argentinean magician, is ready to win the prestigious FIFA world cup. Regarded as the best football player, Messi came close to winning the 2014 world cup as they faced Germany in the final, but a late Mario Götze goal settled the score.

After winning Copa America, the Argentinian squad is motivated to win the world cup, with the help of their captain and playmaker Messi. Lionel can be one of the potential golden boot winners as he won the gold ball in 2014.Fans are focussed to see his performance in Qatar World Cup this year.

Karim Benzema Karim Benzema

Real Madrid’s striker, captain, and superstar Karim Benzema recently had a great run as he won the glamourous Ballon Dor this year.

Benzema has had 2-3 exceptional seasons as he won the UCL, La Liga, and more with his club Real Madrid, which has made him part of the French squad.

He was not part of the 2014 and 2018 world cup, but he has been selected and is pumped to prove his worth. Karim has been exceptional with his club, so we can expect him to perform at the top level with France as well.

Kylian Mbappe Kylian Mbappe

When he first appeared at the 2018 World Cup, Mbappe had the world at his feet. The player was well-regarded, and his pace and dedication made him one of the prominent players.

The player went on to win the prestigious award in 2018. In the competition’s championship game, he also scored, passing Pele as the youngest player to do so. He has not turned around since and is regarded as one of the sport’s promising young players.

The Dutch squad is the dark horse of this world cup as they have been rebuilding their squad for quite some time, and now they have a competitive team.

    Happy for Ener Valencia!

Congratulations to you for scoring the first goal of 2022 FIFA World Cup!!
You can’t keep a good man down. That earlier would-have been FIFA World Cup fastest goal disallowed by VAR was ridiculous. I have said it from the get-go that VAR is ruining the joy of the sport.
And they keep making the off-side rule tighter and tighter. I’m beginning to think that this absurd, ever-expanding strictly implemented off-side rule is meant to hurt teams from regions with attacking forwards blessed with searing speed.
    Again, bravo Ener Valencia!
Hope you hit the first hat-trick of this tournament.
