Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira will miss Sunday’s clash against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium after the appeal to the Football Association over the red card he received in their match against Tottenham was rejected.
Torreira had come on at half-time during Saturday’s north London derby at Wembley, and was sent off by referee Anthony Taylor during stoppage time after catching Danny Rose with his studs in a sliding challenge.
He will now serve a three-match suspension. Aside from missing the clash against Manchester United, he will also miss The Gunners’ home game against Newcastle on April 1 and the trip to Everton on April 7.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will be back in action on Thursday night in the first leg of their Europa League tie against Stade Rennes in France.
Torreira would be eligible as his ban is only for domestic games, but striker Alex Lacazette is suspended following a red card against BATE Borisov.
Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League standings, one point off the top four.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
