Tottenham v Crystal Palace Team News

Tottenham could be boosted by the return of four players for Saturday’s London derby with Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Tottenham have not recorded a victory since their opening triumph over Aston Villa and their last match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ended in a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Newcastle.

However, a quartet of players could return for Saturday’s visit of Palace, including Ryan Sessegnon, who is in line to make his debut following his summer arrival from Fulham after recovering from a thigh injury.

Club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele could also return following a similar issue, while Eric Dier and Kyle Walker-Peters will be assessed.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino has also indicated Christian Eriksen could start – the Dane has been in and out of the team at the start of the campaign due to the uncertainty surrounding his future at the club.

Eriksen admitted during the summer he was considering his future in north London but Pochettino insists the 27-year-old is in the right frame of mind to play a major role. “He has always been happy here,” Pochettino told reporters.

“Of course, everyone has their aims and challenges, but I told you before the Arsenal game that he was in the right mind. That’s why I selected him. “He is happy and if he can play, he will. All the decisions will be made on performances.”

Palace head into the match sitting two points and five places above Spurs in the table following back-to-back top-flight wins against Manchester United and Aston Villa.

The Eagles do seem to be a better side on their travels although they have not won at Tottenham in the league since November 1997.

Roy Hodgson’s side boasts the best defence in the top flight so far this season. However, they will be without Martin Kelly on Saturday due to a groin problem, while Scott Dann is a doubt with a hand injury.

Connor Wickham has also been ruled out although the news is more positive on centre-back Mamadou Sakho, who is in line for his first start since February following a knee injury.
