Andros Townsend says Crystal Palace’s win at Cardiff was a “good team performance” and felt his goal in that game was “overdue”. Townsend grabbed his first goal since January, a run stretching 13 Premier League games, at Cardiff on Saturday as Palace secured a 3-2 win and condemned the Bluebirds to relegation.
The Eagles complete the campaign at home to Bournemouth next weekend and Townsend is looking for another three points to ensure his side end the campaign strongly. “My goal has been well overdue,” he said, as reported by London News Online.

“I have been below-par over the last few weeks with injury and form, so it was nice to contribute again with a goal and an assist. “I am happy and hopefully I can get another one in the last game and end the season on a high. “It was a good team performance from us, we made one or two mistakes defensively as a team but we got away with them due to the quality we had in the final third.
We got the three points we deserved and needed. “We knew that if we got ahead and remained patient that the game would come to us, especially with the attacking players we’ve got. We attacked in numbers and maybe left one or two spaces behind for them to counter, but we got away with it today and got the three points.”
