Troost-Ekong Faces Ronaldo Test Vs Juve As Udinese Vie To Retain Serie A Status

Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong will be eying his first win in four Serie A matches for Udinese against Juventus at the Dacia Arena-Stadio Friuli tonight (Thursday), Completesports.com reports.

Troost-Ekong has faced Juve three times so far in the league since linking up with Udinese in the 2018/19 season with all ending in defeat for the Nigeria international.

Udinese are still looking to secure their place in Serie A for next season. They are currently 16th on the table and seven points clear of 18th-placed Lecce.

The Little Zebras have endured a tough campaign, first under sacked manager, Igor Tudor and then new boss, Luca Gotti which included a 10-game winless run at the start of 2020.

The Old Lady, Juventus, are closing in on their ninth straight Scudetto while it is yet another tough fixture for the host as they bid to secure their Serie A survival for next season.

Juve are unbeaten in their last nine games against the Friulani, winning eight. That includes each of the last six, scoring 21 goals and conceding only four in the process.

Troost-Ekong will have it all to do against Cristiano Ronaldo who is enjoying a purple patch since the restart of the season and hoping to
finish the season as the top scorer in Serie A.

Centre-back, Troost-Ekong was afforded his 27th Italian league appearance this season on Sunday when Udinese lost 2-1 to Napoli in a game which held at the Stadio San Paolo.
