William Troost-Ekong and Samuel Kalu have left the camp of the Super Eagles ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Tunisia in Austria.
This was revealed by the team’s media officer Toyin Ibitoye in chat with Brila FM.
Troost-Ekong and Kalu were in action for the Eagles in their 1-0 defeat to Algeria in Friday’s friendly.

While Troost-Ekong featured for 90 minutes against the African champions, Kalu was replaced after receiving a knock.
And speaking on the absence of both players Ibitoye said:”Kalu was allowed to leave the camp and return to his club because of the knock he got in the game against Algeria.
“For Troost-Ekong he was permitted to go because he just joined a new club and they have a game on Friday so they want him to train with his team ahead of the game.
“So with this two players out we will have the chance to see new players for the game.”

Let me add a theory: They probably were told point-blank that they would not play against Tunisia – not even from the bench. The 2 were about the worst performers against Algeria, along with Onuachu.
It might take awhile before ekong returns back to the first 11 with that new German machine waiting to grab his position..
The situation with ekong is quite understandable but the number of options in the central defence of our team is too risky for anyone player to leave camp just like that..
Iwobi might be the worst flop today bcux i know him more than my boxer..
Bad belle pipo everywhere….
How can u wish ur fellow country man such thing?
its never a wish. but its what wil happen, its unavoidable.. no amount of prayer that can stop it.. i have pray in several occasions but it could not help.. so its
What a joke of a comment! Listen carefully @victor, Iwobi was one of the standout performers in our loss to Algeria last weekend, he will perform better today… If Iwobi is inconsistent, it hasn’t been for the Super Eagles! He always delivers for us, shikena!
iwobi will score and assist today, if you want to alert ur worries over a player, you can easily wish him an improved performance against our nest opponent, and also write out ur worries, knowing very well how good he was in is last games both for club and for your country, instead of betting on the failure of a player you know you don’t have an alternative to his position, you are indirectly wishing the entire team badluck in such manner! haba victor take am easy. I know u are worried about iwobi’ s inconsistent performance in past years but you should know that he knows it too and he is definitely working hard on it as well. The most important thing is the guy have what it takes and it will only be consistent as he is growing in the game, Ronaldo had same problem in his early man United days when is inconsistency was a big concern forcing Alex Ferguson to bench him in some games, I believe iwobi have mastered himself to be always reliable and effective, don’t forget his uncle talks to him too, especially now that he plays similar role with the legend.
Good news for Nigeria. It is avenue to test other new players. Ejuke,Dessers,Akpoguma are there.
No story again.
