Amidst the jubilation that followed Enyimba’s 2-0 defeat of South African side, TS Galaxy, in Sunday’s first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup 2nd Preliminary Round, club owner/President Tim Sukazi has told Enyimba to enjoy their first leg victory for now, boasting it would turn to a nightmare for the Nigerians in the second leg, Completesports.com reports.
Unlike their last home game, against All Hilal of Sudan, in the CAF Champions League, where Enyimba enjoyed all the domination and bossed their opponents but could not find the cutting edge, Victor Mbaoma nodded home the first goal for the People’s Elephant
Martins Usule doubled the two-time African champions’ advantage, which they held on to win 2-0, a good base going into the Sunday’s reverse fixture in South Africa.
Sukazi however boasts Enyimba will be forced to the exit door of the Africa’s second tier inter club competition at the Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit, South Africa on Sunday, November 3, 2019.
“Certainly, I’ve said it, we are on a clear mission,” Sukazi said.
“And now, it may appear like a mountain to climb. It is indeed, I must say.
“Enyimba is a very strong side. They have got the experience in continental football, but we know what we need to do. The group stage is our target and we will beat Enyimba (to reach there), simple.
Sukazi added: “So, that’s exactly what is going to happen when we get back home in South Africa. .
“And come the group stages, TS Galaxy will be there. I’m saying that with absolute confidence because I know the plan. Yes, I know the plan.”
The Dan Malesela’s Galaxy won their last four continental games home and away with the 2-0 defeat to Enyimba marking their first loss in their first year in the continent.
Completesports.com reports that Enyimba have not surrendered a first leg 2-0 advantage in their 18-year sojourn in African inter club competition.
Sukazi founded TS Galaxy in 2015. And The Rockets have made giant stride, defeating Kaiser Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup final to claim a berth in the 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
