Turkish Süper Lig — Gameweek 9

Turkish Süper Lig — Gameweek 9

International Breaks are never easy to manage. We kept track of everything that went on and have the top-tier selections for this gameweek.

Below you’ll find the crème de la crème of this week’s fantasy studs, provided to you by the masterminds behind Fantezi Futbol Türkiye.

Flash Players

Artem Kravets (Konyaspor, Forward)

Since his debut with Kayserispor, Artem Kravets made an average performance with 21 goals in 63 games until the start of this season. However, after his transfer to Konyaspor at the beginning of the season, he made an impressive start which was also surprising for most of the fantasy football fans. With his 465 minutes of play in 6 games, he scored 5 goals and made 1 assist. His signature was on the 75% of the goals that his team has scored so far. He is expected to be in the leading role against Kasımpaşa considering also that two of the Kasımpaşa’s star players Haris Hajradinovic and Armin Hodzic won’t be able to play due to their Covid-19 treatments.

Anthony Nwakaeme (Trabzonspor, Midfielder)

In addition to the poor start of his team for Turkish Süper Lig this season, Anthony Nwakaeme hasn’t performed well until the 7th week of the season. He showed signs of his previous season performances against Kasımpaşa. We expect him to be the player to make his mark against Erzurumspor who have been struggling to stop opponent forwards to score. He may have a fresh start with his new coach Abdullah Avcı. Trabzonspor’s fixture for next 3–4 games also makes Nwakaeme very popular pick.

Steven Caulker (Alanyaspor, Defender)

First of all, we should mention that he was being considered by Liverpool fans as a possible transfer in fan forums last week due to the recent injury problems in Liverpool side. He is one of the regular piece of Alanyaspor defense who are at the top for least goals conceded teams ranking. He is currently also one of the four top scorer defenders in Turkish Süper Lig together with Roco, Zukanovic and Veysel Sarı so far this season. Both goals he scored this season were resulted by corner kicks. In addition, he also made 1 assist and had 4 clean sheets in 7 games. Caulker finished last season with 5 assists which put him at the top rank within central defenders in this category. We expect him to be one of the most picked players this week against Antalyaspor.

Torgeir Borven (Ankaragücü, Forward)

Torgeir Borven scored 33 goals in 52 games for the last 2 seasons in Norwegian Leagues. He has scored 2 goals in 4 games so far for Ankaragücü this season. Due to their position in the league, Ankaragücü needs an urgent win to move up in the table. Their opponent Göztepe have 2 players in covid-19 quarantine in addition to their 4 injured players. Göztepe have not win in last 6 games and they are one of 2 teams whose opponents earns penalty the most. (4 times) Considering that Borven is the main penalty taker of Ankaragücü, above mentioned fact gives us another reason for picking him.

Surprise Pick

Emre Akbaba (Galatasaray, Midfielder)

When Alanyaspor won promotion to Turkish Süper Lig in 2016, Emre Akbaba was the star player of the team. He started to play in Süper Lig since 2016–17 season and after his increasing performance in consecutive two years for Alanyaspor, he made a transfer to Galatasaray. Unfortunately, he had several serious injuries during last 2 seasons after his transfer. He didn’t make a good start again this season but he currently seems ready to play. We expect him to be in the starting eleven considering that Arda and Babel will not play in the game. So we recommend Emre Akbaba as a surprise pick this week.

Recommended Teams for Player Picks

Galatasaray

Galatasaray is close to win against Kayserispor this week. Their performance in last week’s Sivasspor game made a good impression over the fans. Only problem is that they have some players with covid-19 diagnose and we don’t know the details. As we followed from the news or training photos, Ryan Babel and Arda Turan won’t play because of covid-19 quarantine. Also Muslera, Etobo, Luyindama and Elabdellaoui are currently injured. Fantasy football fans should make their picks except of these players.

Fenerbahçe

Fenerbahçe is the most important candidate for winning the title this season. However, they lost against Konyaspor last week at home and lost their leader position in the ranking. They want their fans to forget this lost game by winning against Gençlerbirliği this week. Gençlerbirliği will play the game with a new coach and their key player Stancu won’t play due to the injury.
