You are so right. The semi finalists qualify for the Olympics.

  • Great! I hope this format puts an end to the useless and criminal WAFU Zone B nonsense.

There’s no easy draw o. Togo stopped us from participating in the last edition. Sudan had once stopped Osimhen and the likes from going to the WYC. And from time immemorial, our encounters with Uganda has been very tough at the u-23 level. With Coach Okagbue in charge at a time, we almost lost the ticket to Uganda. Besides, most countries who don’t have many players playing abroad usually have their best players playing at home. And in these countries, a lot of their home based players, who are seasoned national team players, fall under the age of 23. Reason Nigeria usually struggle when our foreign based players are not involved in the qualifying series for either the Olympics or U-23 AFCON. So we should be weary of the Tanzanians, South Sudanese and the Ugandans. They may be bringing their national teams and not necessarily the u23 we are expecting.
