Arsenal began their UEFA Champions League campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Napoli at the Diego Maradona Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Gunners could have won by a more comfortable margin after creating several clear-cut chances in an entertaining encounter, but Martin Ødegaard’s goal 15 minutes from time proved decisive.
Ødegaard is now enjoying a fine run of form, having scored four goals in his last five appearances for Arsenal across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Liverpool came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid at Anfield.
Marcos Llorente put the visitors ahead in the 17th minute, but Liverpool responded strongly before half-time, with Dominik Szoboszlai restoring parity four minutes before the break.
Alexis Mac Allister then completed the comeback five minutes into the second half, firing Liverpool to a valuable three points in their Champions League opener.
