Samuel Chukwueze scored his maiden goal for AC Milan but the Rooseneri suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Borussia in their UEFA Champions League clash on Tuesday night.
Olivier Giroud missed the chance to give the hosts the lead when he failed to convert from the spot in the sixth minute.
Borussia Dortmund were awarded their own penalty four minutes later, which was colly converted by Marco Reus.
Chukwueze equalised for AC Milan eight minutes before the break.
The 24-year-old received a pass from Davide Calabria inside the box and slotted the ball into net after moving past two defenders.
Dortmund won the game through goals from Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and substitute Karim Adeyemi in the second half.

Elsewhere, Zaidu Sanusi was in action for 90 minutes in FC Porto’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona.
Pepe Acquino gave Porto the lead on the half hour mark.
Barcelona fought back with Joao Cancelo netting the equaliser two minutes later.
Portugal midfielder Joao Felix won the game for Barcelona on 52 minutes.
At the Volksparkstadion, Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke featured in Royal Antwerp’s 1-0 defeat to Shakhtar Donestk.
Yusuf started the game, while Ejuke took the place of Gyrano Kerk after the break.
in Bern, Peter Olayinka was an unused substitute in Red Star Belgrade’s 2-0 loss to Young Boys.
