UCL: Osimhen Makes History In Napoli’s Defeat To AC Milan

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen equalled the most goals by a Nigerian player in a single UEFA Champions League season after netting in Napoli’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan on Tuesday night.

Osimhen’s goal was a mere consolation for Napoli, who were knocked out 2-1 on aggregate by the Rooseneri.

The 24-year-old now shared the record with former Inter Milan striker, Obafemi Martins.

Martins scored five goals for the Nerazzurri in the 2004/05 season.

Perhaps Osimhen could have scored more goals in the competition this season if not for injuries which limited his appearance his appearance.

Napoli will now shift their attention to the league following their elimination from the Champions League.

Luciano Spalletti’s side have a 14- point lead over second-placed Lazio with eight games remaining in the campaign.
