Former Club Brugge forward Marc Degryse says Super Eagles midfielder Rapheal Onyedika’s aggressive tackle almost broke the ankle of AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League.
Recall that the Nigerian international was shown a red card by the center referee Felix Zwayer after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review of the incident.

Reacting to the development, Degryse, in a chat with HLN, condemned Onyedika’s tackle on Reijnders.
“On the images you see how Onyedika almost breaks Reijnders’ ankle. He arrives a fraction too late and goes for the ball, but he does it too dangerously,” Degryse said.
“If you see this as VAR, you can do nothing but give red. You shouldn’t go into a duel so fiercely so close to the center circle.”
