Umar Sadiq provided the assist that led to Sociedad’s goal in their 2-1 home loss to Anderlecht, in their second game in the Europa League on Thursday.
Sociedad have recorded just one point from two games played and are in 25th place in the 36-team league table.
Sadiq, who was in the starting line-up, set up Pablo Marin for the opening goal in the 5th minute. He was later replaced before the start of the second half.
Anderlecht drew level through Luis Vasquez in the 28th minute before Theo Leoni made it 2-1 to the Belgian giants on 39 minutes.
The defeat leaves Sociedad in 25th position on just one point after two games.
In Italy, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru was in action for Lazio who thrashed Nice 4-1.
Dele-Bashiru was replaced by Nicolo Rovella in the 46th minute.
Lazio have now won their second game and are top in the league table.
In another fixture Galatasaray, without Victor Osimhen, surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 away to RFS.
