Australian MMA star Alexander Volkanovski has thrown his support behind former two-time UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya to knock out current champion Dricus du Plessis in their title fight at UFC 305 in Perth on Sunday August 18 2024 at 3am WAT.
Speaking on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, he predicted that the Nigerian-born fighter would end the bout with a tactical finish.

“I think Israel Adesanya is going to put on a performance where he gets a crazy finish,” he said. “I feel like something big is coming—I mean, a big finish.”
The Australian recalled Adesanya’s victory over Paulo Costa, expecting a similar approach against du Plessis.
Adesanya has lost two of his past three fights and is seeking to reclaim the middleweight title he lost to Sean Strickland last year. Du Plessis subsequently defeated Strickland to claim the belt.
Despite du Plessis’ victory over Strickland, Volkanovski believes Adesanya has learned from his previous setbacks.
“Dricus is very awkward, very unorthodox,” he added. “But that doesn’t happen to Izzy twice. There’s no way that fight looks the same.”
