Alexis Sanchez finally looks to be heading for the exit door after Manchester United agreed a loan deal with Inter Milan. There is just days to go before the European transfer window closes on September 2, but if the latest reports are to be believed, the deal will be wrapped up well before then.
Sanchez joined United from Arsenal back in January 2018, pipping arch rivals Manchester City to his signature, but looking back they rather wish they hadn’t. The Chilean has been a flop to say the least, and to make matters worse he has cost a fortune despite signing on a free transfer from the Gunners.

Sanchez is thought to be on as much as £400,000 a week, hence United’s urgency to get him off the wage bill as soon as possible. That has proven to be difficult to say the least, with interested parties unwilling to meet the figure, while Sanchez himself is not interested in taking a pay cut it would seem.
Finally, it looks as though a resolution has been found, with Inter ready to take him on board, albeit with a bit of help from United. The wages were again an issue, with Inter not willing to match them. It has been claimed that United turned down Inter’s offer to pay £150,000 a week of said wages, and wanted more.
A compromise has now been reached, and as long as there are no last minutes hitches, the deal should go through well before Monday. However, it has also been claimed there is no option to make the deal permanent at the end of the loan spell. That is Inter’s choice, not United’s and is not ideal for the Reds, who could be faced with a similar situation 12 months down the line.
However, for now they will be just happy to have him away from the club for 12 months, and there is a chance Inter could try and take him permanently at some point, if he impresses.
Inter could be set for a big season as they look to challenge Juventus for the Serie A title and Nerazzurri boss Antonio Conte believes he is the man to help them. Although he will be hoping for more than the five goals in 45 appearances he produced for United.
The move will also see Sanchez link up with Romelu Lukaku, who is already up and running after bagging his first goal in the 4-0 win over Lecce on Monday night.
