Weekend claims that Manchester United were ready to bid for West Ham’s Issa Diop have now been backed up by reports in France. Sky Sports News reported on Sunday that the Red Devils were keen on the France Under-21 centre-back, with a fee of £45m mooted for the talented stopper.
TF1 journalist Julien Maynard has now backed up those reports by stating the Hammers have already turned down one bid from the Old Trafford giants for the former Toulouse man. However, he added on Twitter that Diop wants the transfer to happen and is keen to move to the Theatre of Dreams despite spending just one season in the East End of London.
Diop moved to the London Stadium in the summer of 2018 for a fee thought to be in the region of £22m and so the numbers being mentioned will result in a sizeable profit for West Ham. It is thought that Manuel Pellegrini is keen to hold on to the player who made 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice last term.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
