Jamaica head coach Rudolph Speid has acknowledged that his side will face a stern test against the Super Eagles, describing the Nigerian team as a formidable opponent.
The Reggae Boyz will be up against the Super Eagles in the final of the 2026 Unity Cup at the Valley, London on Saturday night.
The encounter will be a repeat of last year’s final, which the Super Eagles won 5-4 on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation time.
Speid Optimistic Of Victory
Speid is optimistic that his team will achieve a better outcome against Éric Chelle’s side this time around.

“It’s always exciting to play against Nigeria; they play exciting football. They’re one of the powerhouses in Africa, so it’s always good. We always look forward to playing them,” Speid said ahead of the game.
“Last year was very exciting, this year, I hope we’ll have better results against them.
“We saw them play [on Tuesday] so we’ll do some more analysis on what they will be doing and then we will decide if we need to change anything.”
The Reggae Boyz defeated India 2-0 to earn a place in the final.
Nigeria also secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over the Warriors of Zimbabwe in their semi-final encounter.
