Uzoho Vows To Bounce Back Stronger From Injury Setback

Francis Uzoho has vowed to come back stronger after picking up an injury in the Super Eagles 1-1 friendly draw against the Selecao of Brazil on Sunday, reports Completesports.com.

Uzoho, 20, was strechered off the pitch in the 65th minute following what appeared to be a serious injury.

The Omonia Nicosia of Greece goalie put up a superb performance in the game before his substitution.

He is now expected to spend some time on the sidelines as a result of the setback.

His replacement, Maduka Okoye also put in an excellent performance in the game.

“A big thank you to you all 🙏🏽. I will be be back stronger and better
IN CHRIST ALONE, “Uzoho tweeted.

Uzoho has made five appearances and kept three clean sheets this season for Omonia Nikosia who occupy second position in the Cypriot First Division.

    Wishing you quick recovery….!
It indeed looked like some ligaments gave way after that awkward landing. I just pray you can be back by January latest.
Be strong and Get well soon.

  • Francis early assessment are that he will be out for approx a month. Looks like we will have to find goalkeepers to join Okoye for the matches against Rep of Benin on the 11-13th November and Lesotho on the 19th of November

“Rohr told me this evening that @Uzohof has external ligament and meniscus injury. Didnt say how long he would be out, but could be as much as a month. Get well soon, Francis!”

    Wow…..Thanks @ Big D.

Trust me, I’ll be the happiest person earth if he can be back in 1 month. But with the way he landed, It will be a miracle if he wouldn’t be needing a surgery. With ligaments, especially the ACL, its really always a huge headache. 1 month is quite Optimistic, but i pray our worst fears wouldn’t get confirmed. Uzoho really needs this season (clubwise and internationally) to stake a claim for a place at Deportivo, or move to a top flight club in a better league.

Pls the injury shouldn’t be so serious, it appeared very bad at first, he twisted the knee joint, but surprisingly I noticed he was moving the legs trying to feel them, if it were that bad he wouldnt even move the leg at all. But in all quick recovery bro.

The question now is who takes his spot for our next match. I don’t think we need apenyi anymore, so who takes the third goalkeeper spot. Very difficult question to answer

    • @Ololo
I may sound over optimistic, but for the few minutes we saw Okoye behind the sticks, he didn’t disappoint. All he needs is to gel with the team. The situation does not call for reaching for the panic button. Remember, Oga Rohr has a knack for picking the right guys, though if he had used Uzoho at AFCON he would have stopped that blazing shot that did us in.

  • God will see you through my brother, fear not

Get well soon we all love you. @BigD thanks for that update. Let’s hope he gets back to his feet in a months time. If he continues with the way he’s playing bigger clubs will come for him in no distance time.
