Uzoho Was Simply Outstanding –De Gea

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has praised Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho superb performance in Omonia’s 1-0 loss in the Europa League game.

Recall that the Nigeria international, standing in for the injured first-choice keeper Fabiano, kept United at bay for 93 long minutes, making an incredible 11 saves as the home side were frustrated for the majority of the game.

Substitute Scott McTominay finally hit the back of the net with the 34th and final shot of the night for Erik ten Hag’s side, but De Gea still wanted to single out the Cypriots’ no.23.

“Of course. I think he [Uzoho] had an amazing game,” said De Gea, in his interview with MUTV.

“I think he made eight or 10 great saves for his team in the game but in the end we scored a goal and for sure he made a great game.

“I know he played in La Liga in Spain. He had an amazing game and congratulations to him.”

Commenting on United’s struggle to convert our dominance into goals, the Spaniard added: “Yeah, probably this is the only point we can improve because we controlled the game.

“They don’t create chances – just a couple of half-chances – but sometimes games happen like this. Sometimes you create 10 chances and sometimes you create one and score a goal. But this is football.

“Like I said before we fight until the end and score a goal but we need to be more clinical if we want to win games in the Premier League.”

Everyone who watched that game saw how effective he was in stopping Man U constant attacks and eliminating the threats but according to Scholes he only made one save and there was nothing special about his performance against Man U.

Well no reasonable individual would expect Scholes to be objective as long as the player he’s commenting on is not English.

With this performance, he would have said the exact opposite and how he deserves to be in one of the elite teams if Uzoho was an English player but the fact he’s not English, he has no other choice but to downplay his performance because his prejudice won’t let him see anything good in anyone unless he’s English.

This is the same man who claimed that Ten Hag has been unfair to Mcguire because he took the bull by the horn and kept him on the bench due to his poor performances. Mcguire has been the weakest link in Man U who for the last three seasons had constantly performed poorly and cost Manchester United games they should have won. For some odd reasons, previous coaches failed to do something about it which meant Man U continued to underperforme.

Ten Häg took a different approach, he diagnosed and fixed the problem which improved Man U but because Mcguire is English, it did not go down well with Scholes who saw that as a good reason to condemn Ten Häg instead of commending him for a job well done.

No one should take him seriously, he’s not an honest pundit.
