Verratti To Join Qatari Club

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has agreed a deal to join Qatar Stars League club Al-Arabi this season

The Qatar transfer window is still on until September 18 despite the European summer transfer window ending on September 1.

Football Italia reports that Qatari club will dole out €45 million for the 30 year old Italy international’s services.

Verratti was linked to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in the summer transfer window but the move didn’t materialize.

Verratti joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2012 from Italian outfit Pescara signing a five year deal initially with the record French Ligue 1 winners.

He wasn’t selected by new Italy coach Luciano Spalleti for the UEFA Euros qualifiers against North Macedonia which ended 1-1 on Saturday, September 9 at the Tose Proeski Arena and Ukraine, September 12 at the San Siro.

Verratti hasn’t made any appearance for Paris Saint-Germain this season.

Paris Saint-Germain are second on the French League standings with eight points from four matches.

Al-Arabi are currently sixth on the Qatar Stars League table with three points after three games.
