James Vince has replaced Alex Hales in England’s preliminary World Cup squad, with Ben Duckett and Dawid Malan also called up.
Vince The Hampshire batsman has come into the side after Hales was suspended following an “off-field incident” and will try to cement a place in the Three Lions’ World Cup squad.
England face Pakistan in five 50-over games, while they will play the Asians in a Twenty20 prior to that series. First up is a one-dayer against Ireland, with Duckett and Malan selected for that plus the Pakistan T20 encounter.

Opener Jason Roy will miss both games due to injury but should be fit for the World Cup, while captain Eoin Morgan and batsman Joe Denly are both not 100 per cent fit.
Fast bowler Mark Wood has also withdrawn and will feature for Durham in two Royal London One-Day Cup matches before joining the ODI squad next week.
Meanwhile, a statement from Hales’ management company said the decision to omit him has left him “devastated”.
