Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has backed teammate Kylian Mbappé to become a Real Madrid legend.
The superstar forwards have simply not been able to click together on the pitch, something that many predicted ahead of the Frenchman’s acquisition in 2024.
Vinicius Discusses Mbappe Relationship
However, despite speculation of a power struggle, Vini Jr stated that they are friends who connect on and off the pitch.
Vinicius told CazéTV that Mbappe is a great person who has supported him during difficult moments.

“Mbappe is a good person; he always defends me in interviews, including after the match against Benfica regarding the racism incident. He’s a legendary player who will leave his mark on Real Madrid,” Vinicius said in an interview with CazeTV.
“Whenever we can, we’re together, even off the field, doing things as friends. I’ve always had a good relationship with him. I used to send him a lot of messages asking him to come and play with us.
“We haven’t been able to play the way we want, to win the titles the fans want, but I think we’ll be able to turn that situation around very soon,” Vinicius explained.
Mbappe’s future is up in the air as he ponders whether he wants to stay at Madrid or follow fan advice and depart in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Mourinho’s Big Task
Despite their failure to click, Real Madrid have no intention of parting ways with either Mbappe or Vinicius in the summer.
Instead, they have tasked the incoming manager, Jose Mourinho, to find a way to get the two superstars to succeed together on the pitch as Florentino Perez & co. believe that unlocking the duo’s partnership will be key to taking Real Madrid back to the top.
