Fiorentina face a fight to retain the services of Jordan Veretout with reports claiming Arsenal have joined the race. The 26-year-old is attracting interest from across Europe after two eye-catching seasons in Serie A with Fiorentina. He boasts 13 goals in 69 league appearances following his switch from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2017.
Napoli were understood to be leading the race for the Frenchman, who struggled to adapt to life in England a short stay with Aston Villa, but Arsenal are reportedly hoping to beat them to a deal. Reports in France claim Arsenal have made an approach as Unai Emery looks to find a replacement for Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey.
Veretout is contracted to the Viola until the summer of 2021 so it’s unlikely he will be allowed to leave on the cheap. With Roma and Sevilla also in the mix, Fiorentina will be keen to take advantage of a bidding war to bump up any potential fee.
