WAFU U-17: Golden Eaglets Battle Cote d’Ivoire For AFCON Ticket

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will look to secure a place in the final of the WAFU B U-17 Championship when they take on Cote d’Ivoire in their semi-final fixture on Saturday (today).

The winner of the encounter is guaranteed a place at the 2024 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

Tonight’s encounter is slated for the University Stadium, Accra. Kick-off is 9pm Nigeria time.

The Golden Eaglets recorded two wins and one draw in the group stage.

The defending champions started their campaign with a disappointing 0-0 draw against Burkina Faso.

Manu Garba’s side however defeated Niger Republic 1-0 in their second game, before rounding up their group stage campaign with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Togo.

The former world champions top Group B with seven points from three games, with Burkina Faso finishing in second position.

Cote d’Ivoire came second in Group A behind hosts Black Starlets of Ghana.

The two teams will start their semi-final tie at 6pm Nigeria time.

    Loool, with all the hype and noise making, our breedas couldn’t do anything. They were exposed like pack of cards

  • What a disgraceful display. For as long as we as a nation refuse to do thing right and on merit, we are not going anywhere. Let Manu Garba and Ugbade just go and rest. They have proved that they are not ready to move to the next level in their career as far as national team football is concerned.
