Former England international Kyle Walker has questioned whether Trent Alexander-Arnold could ever return to Liverpool, suggesting the 28-year-old would instead need to target a move to Manchester United or Manchester City if he returns to the Premier League in 2027.
Alexander-Arnold completed a £10 million move from Liverpool to Real Madrid in 2025 ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

However, following an injury-plagued debut season, the full-back has seen his playing time significantly reduced under José Mourinho, who has favored Denzel Dumfries and Federico Valverde at right-back.
With rumors mounting over a potential return to England, including interest from former manager Xabi Alonso at Chelsea,Walker believes an Anfield reunion remains unlikely given the circumstances of his departure.
“Can he go back to Liverpool with the way that he left? I’m not too sure,” Walker stated. “Do I see him at another club? He’s got to go to one of the big ones: Manchester United, Man City.”
