Warnock – Cardiff Must ‘Come Out Fighting’

Neil Warnock says Cardiff City must “come out fighting” against West Ham United next week to change the “gloomy” mood around the club.

The Bluebirds boss offered a frank assessment of his side’s chances of getting out of the bottom three following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

“We’re not scoring goals and we’re conceding silly goals,” he admitted. “It’s a bad recipe. “It looks gloomy at the minute, but we’ve had a number of situations while I’ve been here in the last two-and-a-half years, where we’ve been in a similar situation.

“There’s the doom merchants and the glass is half empty at the minute. But we’ve got to show some courage, come out fighting next weekend. It’ll be a great crowd.”

Warnock urged his players to cut out the moments of madness that have left them chasing games in recent weeks, typified by Sol Bamba’s error that led to Wolves’ second goal.

“If we concede goals like that, we’re not going to beat anyone – it doesn’t matter who we play,” he added. “It’s a different game next week, we’ve got another week in training. People like Victor (Camarasa) will have another good week and we’ve got to get on with it now.”
