Warnock Excited By Tour Plans

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock believes his side will reap the rewards of spending part of their pre-season in North America. The Bluebirds confirmed on Friday they will cross the Atlantic as part of their build-up to the 2019-20 campaign, facing USL Championship teams San Antonio FC and New Mexico United on July 13 and 18 respectively.

Warnock’s troops will then head north of the border to Edmonton where they will take on an as-yet to be confirmed opponent. Usually one for staying locally, the 70-year-old says he is excited about the prospect of heading abroad as part of his team’s preparations for next term.

Warnock said: “I think it’s a great opportunity to get the lads away for ten days and play three tough matches at great facilities. “We’re also hoping to soon confirm an attractive home match against foreign opposition for the final Saturday before the season starts.”
