Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has revealed he spoke to Everton defender Phil Jagielka before signing striker Oumar Niasse.
The Senegal international joined the Bluebirds last week on a loan deal for the remainder of the season and featured in their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United on Saturday.
Having previously worked with Jagielka at Sheffield United, Warnock has confirmed he spoke with the former England defender before taking the decision to sign Niasse.
“I did my homework with him and got good reports of how he’d fit in with me from Jagielka,” Warnock told the club website.
“He told me he’s my kind of player, and will do well for us with the way that he plays. It’s all sorted out now.”
