Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has heaped plaudits on Leon Balogun following the Nigerian perfect start to life at the club, reports Completesports.com.
Balogun was impressive in the Gers opening game of the season against Aberdeen and followed that up with another superb display in the 3-0 home win against St. Mirren on Sunday.
The centre-back has also been named 15th in the Scottish Premiership Team of the Week for matchday one and two.
“We knew we were getting a top player in Balogun, he is our type and fits our profile and it is important at Ibrox when a team is deep for a defender to be able to sit on the halfway line,”Gerrard told a news conference on Tuesday morning.
“I spoke to Paul Cook about him and he had only good things to say about Leon.”
Balogun linked up with Rangers after ending his stay with Wigan Athletic.
