‘We Will All Be Happy At The End’ – Eguavoen Confident Of Victory Against Ghana

Super Eagles interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen is upbeat his side will secure a place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, reports Completesports.com.

The three-time African champions will face the Black Stars of Ghana in the second leg of the qualifiers at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday (today).

The Super Eagles held the Black Stars to a 0-0 draw in the first leg last Friday.

Despite failing to impress in the first leg, Eguavoen is positive his side will be victorious.

“I want to urge all Nigerian fans and football lovers to support the team,”the 56-year-old told a press conference on Monday.

“They should fill up the stadium tomorrow and cheer the team on, because I promise we will all be happy at the end of the game,” he said.

Today’s encounter will kick-off at 6pm local time.

    AMEN.
BUT USE THE RIGHT SELECTION. DON’T BE CARRIED-AWAY WITH PAST PERFORMANCE OR DRIBBLING OF CERTAIN PLAYERS. USE CURRENT FORM. FORGET SENTIMENT.

I’m personally upbeat about the match because if Ghana didn’t reach at home, it can’t be here in Abuja dem go reach.. hahaha. It’s funny tho. I think we should be thinking of Qatar with our winning team since we are convinced the Super Eagles is taking the day. Score line, 3 zero.

Historically, when we play with 3 center backs, this generation of SE players are stronger defensively. If we are finding goals hard to come by, we should ensure that we do not concede!
A 3-4-3 formation ensures we are solid defensively, while we remain lethal going forward.
    UZOHO
    AJAYI, EKONG, BALOGUN
    AINA, ONYEKA, ETEBO, BASSEY
    DENNIS, OSIMHEN, LOOKMAN
Close call between Bassey and Sanusi. Both are capable. I select Bassey for this one because of his quality crosses.
Bassey and Aina should operate like Robertson and Alexander-Arnold of liverpool.
Bomb forward and whip in crosses into the box.
Use a double pivot in front of the back three. Select 2 out of Aribo, Etebo, Onyeka and Bonke. All four can do a good job. I would go with Etebo and Onyeka.
The three forwards should use their pace and skill to good effect. They should keep switching positions to confuse the Ghana defense. Select 3 out of Osimhen, Dennis, Lookman, Amoo, ighalo, Sadiq and Simon. I would start Osimhen, Dennis and Lookman.
When we have freekicks and corner kicks, the 3 center backs may step up and use their aerial power to try and get goals.
We need to stay focused for the entire duration of the game. Take shots at goal, but do not be selfish. If your team mate is open and has a better chance to score, give him the ball.
Whatever the formation or players the coaches decide to use in this make or mar game, focus, determination and desire will go a long way in ensuring we capture our 7th world cup ticket.

We shall win today. I am absolutely confident of that. In the final qualifying match enroute Senegal ’92, Burkina Faso made so much noise but at the end of the match in Lagos, their reward was a 7-1 drubbing.
