West Ham are closing on a double swoop for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez and Eibar defensive midfielder Joan Jordan. The Hammers are reported to have had a £29million bid for Gomez accepted, while they are also trying to sign Jordan after stepping up their interest in him.
Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini has already splashed out £25m for Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals and brought in Espanyol goalkeeper Roberto on a free transfer. The spending spree in Spain will not stop there though, with Sky Sports News reporting that the club have had a £29m bid for Uruguayan striker Gomez accepted by Celta Vigo, although West Ham face competition for his signature.
Valencia have had the same bid also accepted and it is now a case of talks with the player and his agent to see where he will choose to play his football next season. The 22-year-old almost joined West Ham in January but for the two clubs to fail to agree on a fee, so the Hammers may well have their noses in front. Pellegrini is also looking to bolster his squad with Jordan after tabling a £13m offer to Eibar to land their man.
