West Ham United are being linked with moves to sign strikers Danny Welbeck and Fernando Llorente this summer. Manuel Pellegrini is keen to bolster his strikeforce during the close season, and is said to be targeting the duo, who will both be available from Arsenal and Tottenham respectively.
Welbeck has been plagued by injury issues and despite closing in on a return to fitness, the Gunners opted against offering him a new deal when his current one expired at the end of the season. The 28-year-old could turn out to be a bargain signing, if he can stay fit, and there is no shortage of interest in him, with clubs at home and abroad ready to offer him the chance to get his career back on track.
West Ham are one of them but will have to pay out a lot in wages to secure his services, as well as a large signing on fee, so he will not come cheap. The same can be said of Llorente, who is expected to leave Spurs on a free transfer, once the Champions League final is out of the way this weekend.
