West Ham midfielder Joe Powell has agreed a new deal at the Olympic Stadium to the summer of 2020. The 20-year-old, who is a lifelong supporter of the club, has been rewarded for a promising season at Under-23 level.
He made his debut for the club in the EFL Cup earlier this season and registered two assists against Macclesfield in September. The talented schemer then spent the second half of the season on loan at League Two Northampton Town where he scored twice in 10 appearances.

And the midfielder is delighted to get another season under his belt at the Hammers and is hoping to push on. “I’m delighted as I’ve got another year now to try and prove myself and hopefully this is the one where I push on into the first-team squad,” he said.
“I can’t wait for pre-season to start now and hopefully I can have a much better season than I did last year, then West Ham will want me to stay for the long term.”
