We’ve Missed ‘Huge Player’ Aribo So Much —Southampton Manager

Southampton manager Russell Martin has said Joe Aribo was hugely missed while away on international duty with Nigeria.

Aribo was away from club duties for close to a month as the Super Eagles reached the AFCON 2023 final.

He came off the bench to score in Southampton’s 2-1 home defeat to Hull City on Tuesday.

He has now come off the bench for Southampton in their last two games.

The Saints boss was delighted with the 27-year-old’s performance and now believes the midfielder can be even more involved going forward.

“Amazing. We have missed him so much and he showed that the other night,” he told Daily Echo via Southampton FC news.

“I think he is ready to start games now, although he has been away for a while.

“He is a huge player for us and you can see why he wore the armband for us.”
