Riyad Mahrez (Algeria) Vs Nigeria

Algeria Desert Foxes’ winger, Riyad Mahrez’s stoppage time free-kick goal which secured the AFCON 2019 final berth for the north Africans at the expense of Nigeria’s Super Eagles was an absolute beauty.

With just 10 seconds before the game could extend into extra time, the Manchester City man took his time, adjusted his gaze and finding an opening at the near right hand side of Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, let go a ferocious left-foot curler that rested into the top corner even before the goaltender could leave his spot.

Odion Ighalo (Nigeria) Vs Burundi

Odion Ighalo’s goal in the Super Eagles’ 1-0 win against Burundi in Group B had a touch of class in it’s execution. Ola Aina cowed the opposition’s defence with a nifty back-heeled pass that put Ighalo clear on goal. And the eventual tournament top scorer brilliantly curled the ball into the far net.

Ibrahim Amada (Madagascar) Vs Dr Congo

Madagaacar player, Ibrahim Amada’s goal against Congo DR in the Round of 16 was deftly executed leaving many thumbing it up as the most beautiful goal of the tournament.

It was the Barea’s curtain-raiser in the regulation time 2-2 scoreline before edging out Congo Dr on penalties

It was a spectacularly taken goal. Lalaina Nomenjanahary dashed in from the right side and his pass released Amada who struck a long-range shot that curled out of reach of goalkeeper Ley Matampi.

Adama Traore (Mali) Vs Mauritania

The goal scored by Adams Traore (don’t mistake him to namesake teammate – Adama Noss Traore) of Mali had many talking it up. Traore scored his highly rated goal against Mauritania which many labelled ‘magnificent’.

It was the Malians’ fourth goal in their 4-1 Group E win against the AFCON finals debutants. Traore curled a surprise shot into the net to set tongues wagging in sheer admiration of his effort.

Abdoulaye Diaby (Mali) Vs Mauritania

Abdoulaye Diaby, the Malian forward who plies his trade with Sporting Lisbon pushed his name into the list of scorers of top quality goals at AFCON 2019 with the first in Mali’s 4-1 Group E win against Mauritania.

Diaby hit a thunderous shot from outside the box which veered off the underside of the crossbar before going into the net, leaving goalkeeper Souleymane Diallo with no chance.

Krepin Diatta (Senegal) Vs Tanzania

Another exceptional AFCON 2019 goal is Senegal’s Krepin Diatta’s strike against Tanzania in their first Group C match.

Diatta’s clever volley found the net and completed a strong 2-0 win for the Teranga Lions against the Taifa Stars.

Riyad Mahred’s goal against Nigeria is a ‘Stand alone’ version of a goal. The goal was classic, taken by an intelligent and visionary player. I nominate this goal as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd goal of the tournament, Egypt 2019.

Ighalo’s goal against Burundi is the best. The back hill pass from Ola Aina and the superb and cool finish by Ighalo is magnificent.

I give it to that Ighalo goal against Burundi. Other goals mentioned here are beautiful but I’m attracted more to a goal that has a touch work, I mean with some beautiful combination . That Ola Aina’s back heel pass was made in heaven. What about that Ighalo through run to meet the pass, it’s tailored! Then the banana shot he put into the far net..awesome. That was a sexy goal!!

Ibrahim Amada (Madagascar) Vs Dr Congo!!
This goal was a beauty, I nominated this goal even before the end of that match. CSN would have done better dropping the videos or URL.

The second goal scored by Madagascar against Congo DRC through their captain to me is the goal of the tournament. It was scored through flying header .the Madagascan captain took immense risk before he scored that goal. He showed leadership qualities when he scored that goal.

  • That Mahrez goal vs Nigeria should be the goal of the year for CAF and FIFA 2018 and 2019 years combined. What are you talking? That goal! That goal was something else. And consider the time in the game it was scored. With tiredness telling on all the players of both sides. It should be that Mahrez goal.

ALGERIA (BOUNEDJAH) VS SENEGAL: The player got the ball and went on a solo run by-passed Senegalese defenders and hit the ball that was deflected high in the sky: the ball decended and rolled into the net by the top corner of the upright with the keeper making no attempt to stop it as he was glued on the spot watching the ball rolling gracefully into the top corner of the upright for the only goal of the match. This goal was scored the the 2′(minutes of the match). This is the best goal of Afcon 2019!

There is nothing spectacular about marehz. Many keepers will have saved it.Akpeyi’s primary school blunder magnified the kick. I THINK IGALOH’S IS A STANDOUT THAT CAN BEAT THE BEST KEEPER IN THE WORLD SO LETS GIVE IT TO HIM
