Why I Left Arsenal For Everton – Iwobi

Super Eagles winger, Alex Iwobi has revealed that he was unsettled at Arsenal due to the different positions that he played.

The Nigerian international, who joined Everton in a deadline transfer deal from the London club in 2019, told Skysports in an interview that he has no regret quitting the club for Goodison Park.

“It’s tough going from that at Arsenal. One manager, obviously Unai Emery came, and yeah it was a bit different because there was a lot of different methods, things were getting changed, positions, formations, and I have had to play in numerous positions, so maybe I was a bit unsettled.

“But I don’t really want to say like an argument or problem because at the end of the day, as footballers, we should be able to cope with the situation.

“Maybe I should have handled it better, but whether what happened in the past has made me who I am today, so there’s no regrets.”

Iwobi spent 15 years with the Gunners, coming up through their junior ranks before making 149 senior appearances for them.

You left or they offload you.You were surplus to requirement. Which different positions are you talking about. How many positions did you play in arsenal compared to Everton. Guy go and improve. Look at Saka little boy has played left back and did very well with plenty assist, played midfield did very well and now right wing and is scoring goals something you could not do why you were there. You are playing right wing now how many goals have you been able to score for Everton? If Saka should come to Everton with his present from he will bench you.

    • What have you gained with all thar you poured out. The guy is still taking in money and still very relevant to Nigeria. He has played at the world cup. Saks will not have that opportunity. Mark my words. He has played at the nations cup. Saks will not play at euro. He has scored for the national team. Saks has not scored for england.

So what can we still say. He played in the final of Europa cup, saks never taste am. Saks has not scored the number of goals he has scored for arsenal. So what are you angry about.

Iwobi is Nigeria number one and the backbone for the Club & Country. In his widest dreams, Saka shall never attain the heights of ‘Iwobi of Nigeria’. Saka is not even good or can’t play for Nigeria. Saka parents were not strong enough to bend him to play for his father’s land. Unlike our Iwobi whose dad would accomplished him to Calabar or Uyo when he was a kid playing for the Nigeria Super Eagle. Saka’s name will never be heard in the Nigeria football circle because he turned his back on his father’s land. Forget about Saka. He will soon regret his ill-matured decision he took for turning his back on his father’s land.
