Why I Stopped My Backflip Goal Celebration – Moses

Former Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses has disclosed why he put an end to celebrating goals with his acrobatic backflip.

Moses, who won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles, stated this in an interview with his club website, Spartak Moscow.

He said that he stopped his trademark celebration due to the effect it has had on his legs

“Sometimes when I score I do backflip celebration, sometimes I don’t, sometimes when in a different mood different reaction, that’s what happens sometimes.

“I try to stop doing the backflips, I don’t think it is good for your legs, you might get injured afterwards so I try to ease it down a little bit”.

I don’t know why I feel VICTOR MOSES should still come back and play on Super Eagle’s wings again! I just love him. Assuming he’s still available today with the abundance of you stars, he will surely be doing well for Country and a good club performance could even earn him some CAF recognitions. I remember going to SuperSport and CAF Social Media handles then, Moses was greatly feared by our opponents everytime. Everyone knows Victor Moses and he never disappoints anytime!

There is no doubting that the Super Eagles missed Victor moses qualities. On occasions in the past few matches played without him especially in that energy sapping semi finals against the desert warriors in 2019 Afcon when we were struggling to unlock their defence ‘ a player of moses calibre would have been very useful in doing just that. Even now with the array of young talents at our disposal, Moses in my view remains a step above many of them in experience and qualities. Bringing Moses back is a no brainer for me.

The tribal bigots in the Super Eagles have conspired to make sure he doesn’t return to the team…Moses is way better than Iwobi and IMHO more productive than Chukwueze.

What tribal bigots? Nigerians are impossible….

@Coachie, thumbs up for stating the obvious. This same set of tribal bigots attacked Moses on social media on irrelevant things. They attacked him for playing the free-kicks instead of their village boys..
Same set of bigots believe that the national teams should be filled with their tribes when it is obvious that all tribes are blessed with talents.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not accussing an entire tribes but the attitudes of some guys on this forum are really concerning.
Moses remains one of the missing links in current SE set-up.

No doubt a Victor Moses in today’s Super Eagles will be a serious catalyst for lynching our opponents. If he wants back in the fold, I will support it 100%… I would root for players in his situation then, asking for time off the national team rather than outright resignation in the future… because, it is often that the hunger and love to return to the group will come back just like Mikel Obi did… I hope he rescinds his decision still and get back into the fold.

Victor Moses is not coming back. As an Edo son, once we say some thing, we stick with it no matter what. Only OMO-nor-Oba ne-Edo, Ewuare the 2nd can persuade him at this time. Nigerians tends to abuse and disrespects their own. Moses is watching, with horror, how some folks here are disrespecting and abusing Ighalo, a fellow Edo son for all what he has done for the Nigeria Nation not too long age. If you think Victor will not notice that, you are wrong. Moses have family in Benin City who are following the trends in this place, just to you guys know. It doesn’t cost you something to respect those who have tried their best for Nigeria at one time or the other. Osimhen have said repeatedly that Odion Ighalo is one of his heroes and that it will be an honor for him to play along with his hero at any game.

It’s obvious some of you morons support your tribal players in the super eagles not really the super eagles as a team

  • Moses is still important in the team ;He still plays better in his position. We all can still see his input in his club matches.. Moses and that goal keeper in the Israeli football league should be invited by SE coach..
