Wiesberger Wins In Denmark

Bernd Wiesberger made his overnight advantage count to claim his fifth European Tour victory at the Made in Denmark. The Austrian began the day a shot clear and made two birdies in three holes before a double bogey at the fourth set him back, only to gain two more strokes at the fifth and sixth.

A birdie at the eighth and an eagle at the 11th meant Wiesberger was level with Robert MacIntyre after 15 holes but Wiesberger birdied the 16th before his Scottish rival blasted out of bounds on the penultimate hole. Walking up the 18th with a two-shot lead, the 33-year-old could even afford a bogey as he wrapped up the title at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort, signing for a closing 66.

Thinking about what was going on in the last year. “I had so many great people helping me and getting me back to where I am right now. I’ve had so much support, it’s been amazing, and I’m proud to pay it back that way. I’m so thankful to so many people who have been there for me in the last year.
