Wilder Makes Retirement Vow After Fury Prediction

Deontay Wilder said he would retire from boxing if Tyson Fury follows through on his promise and knocks the American heavyweight out in the second round of their rematch.

The upcoming bout between the Gypsy King and the Bronze Bomber is being described as one of the biggest fights in boxing history, and there is huge anticipation ahead of the clash following the pair’s draw in 2018.

Fury has claimed he plans to knock Wilder out in the second round, but Wilder told TMZ Sports that he would contemplate giving up the sport if that were to happen.

“Him saying he’s gonna knock me out in the second round is not believable,” Wilder said. “He has pillows as fists so I can’t see that happening. If he knocks me out in the second round, I’m retiring. I’m done.”

Wilder also recently responded to Fury’s claims that he is masturbating seven times a day in order to prepare for the fight.

Fury recently said: “I’m doing a lot of things I didn’t before.

“I’m eating five or six meals a day, drinking eight litres of water. If it’s gonna give me an edge, I’m willing to try it.

“I’m masturbating seven times a day, keep my testosterone pumping.”

In response to this somewhat unusual training technique, Wilder said: “I mean, enjoy yourself. Just use the proper lotion!

“Whatever he says is for entertainment or whatever…Enjoy himself! Just use the proper lotion. I mean some like thick lotion.”

Fury and Wilder will face off at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas on February 22, with the fight a rematch between the two following their controversial draw on points at the Staples Center in 2018.

Wilder remains unbeaten, with the draw with Fury the only time he has not tasted victory.
