Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo thanked the fans for getting behind the squad during Wednesday’s victory over Arsenal. The West Midlands outfit, who are now unbeaten in seven Premier League games at home, ended a three-game winless run and subsequently boosted their chances of earning a place in the Europa League.

Ruben Neves opened the scoring with a perfectly-executed free-kick, before Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota had Wolves 3-0 ahead by half-time. Sokratis pulled one back for the Gunners late on but there was to be no further fightback from the travelling side. Nuno was quick to praise the Wolves fans for their unwavering support as his side moved back up to seventh.

“Our fans came here in large numbers. It was the largest attendance we have had this season, so thank you to them,” Nuno said. “We need them and we can celebrate together, another good night at Molineux. “I’m very proud of the way we work, very proud of how the players engage themselves and commit themselves. “We give everything we have each game. That’s what makes me proud, the belief we have in ourselves.”
